How we've helped our clients.

Author :

Our client was driving her vehicle on a roundabout when a third-party vehicle emerged onto the roundabout at high speed and collided with our client’s vehicle, pushing her vehicle off the road and causing her to collide with a sign post.

The third party driver proceeded on for approx. 100 yards before stopping, exiting the vehicle and running off leaving the vehicle unattended.   Police services attended the scene who confirmed the third party vehicle to be stolen.  The vehicle was also uninsured.

Our client sustained soft tissue injuries and anxiety as a result.

How we helped our client

We obtained a copy of the Police Report and assisted our client to complete a Motor Insurer’s Bureau (“MIB”) application form.  The MIB is an organisation set up in the UK to assist victims of accidents caused by uninsured and untraced drivers, funded from every insured driver’s premium.  The MIB confirmed they were happy to deal with our client’s claim.

We recovered our client’s copy medical records, and a medical report was instructed by an independent medical expert, who confirmed our client’s injuries.

The medical report confirmed our client’s injuries would resolve 13 months from the date of the incident.  The expert also recommended physiotherapy treatment to aid our client’s recovery which was arranged by the MIB.

Our client also lost earnings as she was unable to work for a period following the incident.  We obtained confirmation of our client’s absence and earnings from her employer and were able to calculate a loss of earnings figure which was agreed by our client.

Settlement

Our client accepted an offer from the MIB to include compensation for her injuries and wage loss in a settlement award of £4,497.00.
